Privacy Notice

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This notice explains what information may be collected when you visit or use the TerrapinHome website, why it is used, and the choices available to you. The website is owned and operated by Terrapin Code, LLC ("Terrapin Code," "we," "us," or "our").

Information we may collect

  • Information you provide: If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message. If you use an account, we process your email address and authentication information to provide access.
  • Technical and usage information: When you access the website, we and our service providers may collect technical information about your device, browser, and interactions with the website. This information helps us operate, maintain, and protect the service.
  • Assistant messages: When an authorized administrator uses the chat assistant, the messages they submit and the assistant's replies are sent to our backend and Microsoft Azure AI services to provide the chat. Do not include sensitive personal information in chat messages.
  • Browser storage: When you sign in, an authentication token is stored in your browser's local storage to maintain your session. The site also stores a small local timestamp for administrator notification behavior. You can clear this data using your browser settings; doing so may sign you out or reset site behavior.

How we use information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • Respond to inquiries and manage contact submissions.
  • Authenticate users, administer accounts, and provide protected website features.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and prevent abuse.
  • Provide the administrator chat assistant when that feature is used.
  • Meet legal obligations and protect our rights and the security of the service.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help us host and operate the website, database, authentication, chat, or email notifications. These may include Microsoft Azure services and, when contact email notifications are enabled, the configured email delivery provider. Providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, our users, or our rights.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking

The website does not currently use advertising cookies or a third-party analytics tool. It uses browser local storage for the functions described above. Hosting or security providers may independently use technical mechanisms needed to deliver and protect their services.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including operating the website, responding to requests, and meeting legal, security, and operational needs. Retention may vary depending on the type of information and the services involved. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You may choose not to submit information through the contact form or sign in, though some features will then be unavailable. You can clear browser local storage through your browser settings. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you have provided, contact us through the Get in Touch form on the home page. We may need to retain certain information where required by law or for legitimate security and operational purposes.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the website or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be posted here with its updated date.
